There are several reasons why Konica Minolta’s new magicolor 4650EN and magicolor 4650DN deserve a place right at their user’s desk: first and foremost, they are the perfect office assistants with a magic touch for colour. The two new magicolors can handle any daily print job speedily, always delivering high quality in colour or black and white. They do their job quietly and reliably while also being easy on their user’s eye: attractively designed in black and white and with compact dimensions, they are real desktop assets.
Colour and monochrome prints with no compromises in terms of quality – this is the description of Konica Minolta’s magicolor 4650DN and magicolor 4650EN in a nutshell. The devices targeted at individual users and small work groups deliver versatile colour printing up to A4 format. Output may reach from sophisticated correspondence over compelling business reports to persuasive presentations or business cards. The multi-purpose tray feeds 100 sheets of plain paper as well as heavier paper with up to 210 g/m2. Users looking for even greater flexibility can go for the magicolor 4650DN, which comes with a built-in duplexer. This device’s advantages are twofold, too: The duplexing unit advances the printer’s productivity as the machine continues to work at full capacity – and at a low noise level.
“The magicolor 4650EN and magicolor 4650DN are the optimal choice for small work groups looking for a compact and reliable printer right at their workplace,” says Karsten Wiebking, Product Manager at Konica Minolta. “They combine full-scale functionality with the ease of use and convenience our users look for.”
When it comes to colour printing, Konica Minolta’s magicolors always do their name full credit – no matter what the printing volume of the device. To this end, the 4650DN and 4650EN work with the PhotoART-9600 contone technology, which allows printing at a resolution of 9600 dpi. At the same time, the 4bit contone technology means finer and more variable dot sizes and a wide variety of hues and shades. Therefore, the magicolors’ print outs boast more detail and more accurate colours, leaving users with extra colour without losing print speed.
High print speed indeed distinguishes the two magicolor models from other devices of their class: In just one minute they produce 24 pages in either colour or black and white. For the first page users have to wait a mere 13 seconds. The next generation Emperon Controller, their 500 MHz processing speed and their 256 MB of memory make sure everything runs smoothly and quickly. If users require large volumes, the compact devices’ paper capacity can be increased by using the optional lower feeders. Print jobs with up to 850 sheets can be handled easily and conveniently.
Both devices offer native support of the XPS (XML Paper Specification) file format from Microsoft Vista, making the single workplace ready for the future. XPS enables more accurate printing and easy sharing of documents. In addition, both the magicolor 4650EN and the 4650DN are compatible with a variety of printing languages such as PCL6 and PostScript3, as well as with various operating systems and business applications.
“We want our small workgroup users to play in the premier league, too,” concludes Karsten Wiebking. “With the two new magicolor models, we’re offering them the right devices to do so.”
